Morgan's Rock

Balcones borders one of Nicaragua’s most exclusive and successful tourist destinations, Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Eco-Lodge. Part of a 1000-hectare tree farming and reforestation project and an 800-hectare private nature reserve, Morgan’s Rock is one of few large natural sanctuaries along the Pacific Coast of Central America.

The conservation of this area is crucial for maintaining the habitat of the wildlife living in this region. Morgan’s Rock is a pioneer in ecotourism in Nicaragua, being the first destination designed to observe strict ecological restrictions and appeal to an upscale market, providing high levels of service in a world class boutique hotel.

Morgan’s Rock is the creation of Simplemente Madera, a furniture making and architectural design company owned by the Poncon family and British architect Matthew Falkiner.
